Alkagesta, the Malta-based global commodity trading company, was represented at the event by Chief Executive Orkhan Rustamov and Chief Financial Officer Orkhan Zeynalli. The company joined members and guests of SUISSENÉGOCE under the big top of Circus Knie in Geneva to celebrate two decades of the Swiss Commodity Trading Association.

SUISSENÉGOCE President Nicolas Matter and Secretary General Florence Schurch opened the evening by reflecting on the association's growth since its founding. Matter traced the organisation's roots to Geert Descheemaeker and Jacques-Olivier Thomann, who saw the value of Swiss commodity trading companies working together on shared challenges. Schurch paid tribute to the founders, past presidents, board members and members who helped build what Matter described as a respected voice for the sector.

In her review of the past 20 years, Schurch highlighted SUISSENÉGOCE's work representing the sector, supporting professional education and engaging with policymakers. She also underscored the wider network that sustains Swiss commodity trading, including banks, insurers, logistics specialists, inspection and certification firms, legal experts, educators, recruiters and consultants.

Following the leadership remarks, guests attended a performance by the artists of Circus Knie. The celebration continued afterwards at the Cercle des Bains in Geneva.

Alkagesta's attendance underlines its continued engagement with Switzerland's commodity trading community and the institutions that support it. The company trades petroleum products, fertilizers, biofuels and steel in more than 48 countries.
